Three UI Students Arrested for Allegedly Faking Kidnap

Three students of the University of Ibadan, UI have been reportedly arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS), for allegedly faking a kidnap of one of them, in order to swindle the parent.

It was gathered that one of them is a recent graduate and a former student leader at the Kenneth Mellanby Hall.

The supposed kidnap victim who is a kantangite (student of independence hall), was said to have collided with the two mellanbites to kidnap him and demand N3million ransom from his parents.

The parents had swiftly involved a CID in Abuja who tracked the number to mellanby hall of the institution.

Reacting to the incident, the management of the hall has asked all students still occupying the hostel, to vacate the school premises.

Meanwhile, the hall executives and students on industrial training (I.T) were exempted.
