Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a presidential aspirant under the aegis of APC, has endorsed the governorship aspiration of Teslim Folarin in Oyo State.
The former Lagos governor who stated this during his visit in Ibadan to consult delegates, said he is in support of the decision of majority party members who elected the three term senator as the All Progressives Congress, APC party’s candidate.
He urged them to reconcile themselves ahead of the election, saying that he would come back to talk to the aggrieved members on the need to shealth their sword.
He said he was going back to raise the hands of Folarin and campaign for him, advising Folarin to go back to pacify the aggrieved.
He added, “Do you want governor? You should all speak up one more time. We have heard and accepted your choice, may God answer our prayers.
“I came here to advertise myself and the candidates; Folarin’s election is still ahead so I shall return to raise his hand.
“However before I return, Folarin must work seriously to mend the entire broken fence. He must seek out elders to help him implore those who contested the ticket with him so all factions could be brought together as one family.
“The party is divided into two; he must work to unite all aggrieved. We shall support him if he could be humble, pray and beg all concerned”, he added.
Reacting, Folarin recalled how as a 39-year old senator in 2003, Tinubu sent Musiliu Obanikoro, his then colleague to give him an envelope containing a land allocation paper.
He said he would remain grateful for what Tinubu has done for him.
Tinubu before the end of the meeting, later raised the hands of Adedapo Lam-Adesina; Idris Ajimobi and Olamiju Alao-Akala, APC candidates in Ibadan North East/South East; Ibadan Southwest 2 and Ogbomoso North/South/Oriire Federal Constituency, asking people to support them.
