A solemn atmosphere filled the Jogor Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State as dignitaries gathered on Monday to pay tribute to the late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, during an Evening of Tributes and Service of Songs.
Former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, spoke glowingly of Akeredolu, highlighting his commitment to defending the vulnerable people of the Southwest region. Fayemi praised Akeredolu’s advocacy for community policing, noting its broad acceptance beyond political boundaries.
Describing Akeredolu as someone who found joy in serving the public and fostering national unity, Fayemi commended his unwavering courage in speaking truth to power.
Among the dignitaries present were Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker Olamide Oladiji, Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker Debo Ogundoyin and his wife, Bisi Fayemi, APC Ondo State chapter Chairman Ade Adetimehin, members of the Ondo State House of Assembly, some state executive council members, and former appointees of the late Akeredolu led by ex-Secretary to the State Government Oladunni Odu.
