Two Dead, One Injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

An accident involving a trailer and a Volkswagen bus at Oniwowo, Ogunmakin area on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has claimed the lives of two persons while leaving one other injured.

Mr Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Umar noted that the incident which occured at 4:30am, was caused by excessive speed and loss of control on the part of the bus driver, who rammed into the moving truck.

He said that the vehicles involved in the accident were Iveco trailer marked DUK 517 XA and Volkswagen bus with registration number MUS 05 YF.

In the meantime, the FRSC boss stated that a total of four men were involved in the accident, saying that one person was injured, one unhurt while two persons died.

Umar also said that the injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere while the deceased were deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara.
