The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has shared the reasons behind his alignment with his political ally from Rivers State and the current Minister for the FCT, Nyesom Wike.
The Governor made his comments during a fireside chat where he answered questions from his newsletter subscribers. He emphasized the possibility of differences in ideology.
When asked if he aligns with Wike’s ideology, Makinde noted that it is normal to develop political partnerships and friendships, but he added that differences in ideology and approaches to tackling problems are also common.
He stated, “Well, you have your friends, and in politics, you cannot all sleep in one direction. We are different people, and we see things differently. Even when we face challenges or problems, there isn’t always a one-sided solution. We have different people with different ideas.”
“You have different people with different ideas on how to solve the same problem but I still maintain that Nyesom Wike has done very well for his people in Rivers State.”
Makinde said during the fireside chat that he once lived in the capital city of Rivers State, Port Harcourt many years ago before he made the decision to venture into politics.
OyoAffairs recalls that Makinde and Nyesom Wike are both members of the G5 governors in the Peoples Democratic Party.
