Kemi Olunloyo, a journalist and daughter of former Oyo state governor, Omololu Olunloyo, has said that the clamour by some quarters for a Yoruba nation is in vain as Yoruba nation “can’t work” in Nigeria.
Olunloyo spoke during an interview with transnational news outlet, BBC.
In her words, “After the efforts of Akintola and Awolowo, don’t even think about forming Yoruba nation. Yoruba nation can’t work. Let’s not forget what happened during the times of Akintola and Awolowo.
“If you don’t know what happened then, let the elders that were alive during that time enlighten you on why Yoruba nation can’t work.
“I do not support Yoruba nation. However, I support Chief Sunday Adeyemo on his community activism. I do not support the division of Nigeria in any way. I am for one Nigeria.
“From what we heard, Sunday Igboho has a German passport. Nnamdi Kanu has a British passport. It is those with foreign passports and access to the international world, that want to destroy Nigeria.
“Why did Sunday Igboho run away?”, she asked.
