The Yoruba community is mourning the loss of a beloved poet, writer, artiste, and religious leader, Alhaji Olanrewaju Adepoju, who passed away at the age of 83.
Adepoju was confirmed dead on Sunday in his home in Ibadan. His son, Adejare Adepoju, announced the news, saying “Baba has gone to rest.” The sad incident occurred at about 7pm on Sunday.
Adepoju was known for his contributions to Yoruba literature and culture, and his passing has left a void in the artistic and religious communities. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
