Aduragbemi Animasawun-Euba, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Congress (YPP) in the 2023 general election, has officially joined the ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State. Aduragbemi decamped to the PDP on Friday evening at her ward in Badeku Village, Ward 3, Ona Ara Local Government Area, Ibadan.
Aduragbemi cited good governance as her reason for joining the PDP and praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his tireless efforts to bring development and good governance to the people of the state. She described Makinde as a working governor and said she believes in his capacity and leadership qualities.
The YPP candidate’s decision to join the PDP was welcomed by party leaders and bigwigs. Com. Olusegun Atilola, chairman of the party in ward 3 of Ona Ara Local government, said PDP is an accommodating party and welcomed Aduragbemi and her followers into the party.
Party leader and former chairman in Ward 3, Mr. Muritala Gbadamosi, expressed his willingness to work with Aduragbemi and help her achieve her political dream. Hon. Adedokun Nureni, counselor representing Ward 3, Mr. Sulaimon Nurudeen Kolawole, Oyo central candidate (Chief Bisi Ilaka) coordinator in the last election, Mrs. Alice Adeyeye, woman leader, Comr. Olaide Adewole, youth leader, and many other notable persons were also glad about her decision to join the party.
Aduragbemi had contested for the governorship seat at the 2023 election under the YPP party but lost to Governor Seyi Makinde. However, she said her decision to join the PDP was proof of her love for her constituents, followers, and the state.
