The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede has commended the efforts of a Support Group, Young Appointees for ‘Seyi Makinde’s Re-election, YASR, for actively engaging in initiatives aimed at re-electing Governor Makinde in the 2023 election.
Fakorede, who made this known on Tuesday during a courtesy call made by the group to inform him about the group’s activities, urged the group not to give up on its drive but do more to create opportunities for the youths coming after them.
In his words: “I am delighted that you are here today because if there is anything that we really need, it is that synergy where our principal will be able to see that he is building a formidable dynasty and the people involved are also cooperative.
“The only thing we can pay back to our principal is to really show a good result and that we are efficient in whatever capacity we are saddled with. That is going to be the only scorecard to evaluate our performance.
“Please let us be involved in championing whatever has to do with the youths.
“I think it is a good one and we are setting a good example to a number of people. It shouldn’t be heard that there is disunity amongst us.
“And I hope that by the Special Grace of God, come next season, we will be able to have more youth as part of the administration”, he added.
Similarly, the Youth and Sport Commissioner has called on the members of the group to play their part in renewing their efforts by coming together.
“If we do this, even our principal will be strengthened to do more”, he said.
In the meantime, Fakorede has pledged to do all he can to support the vision of the group.
“I want to use this opportunity to let us know that whatever we need to do together, I will be willing to go the miles to assist and promote this platform we have”, he assured.
