Wetland Hotel: Oyo Police Commence Investigation on Cause of Ibadan Vendor, Khadi’s Death

The Oyo State Police Command have on Sunday revealed that its operatives have commenced investigations on the mystery surrounding the death of Olayinka ‘Khadi’ Adeshina, who was found dead in a hotel in Ibadan.

Recall that OyoAffairs.net had earlier reported that a popular Ibadan-based online vendor, Olayinka Adeshina also known as Khadi, was found dead at Wetland Hotel in the Akobo area of Ibadan on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Khadi, who ran an online retail store ‘Shop With Khadi’ on Instagram where she sold clothing, shoes and fashion accessories, was confirmed dead after she lodged in the hotel on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, with a male friend whose identity is yet to be revealed.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso has however revealed a statement, saying: “Updates would be provided accordingly and investigation has commenced into the incident.”

In the meantime, Wetland Hotel has revealed that it has been cooperating with the authorities with their investigation as the matter is wholly a police case.

The hotel management said it has given the police full statement and information about the incident.

“We regret to inform you that an unfortunate incident occurred at our hotel, Wetland Hotel. One of our guests passed away while staying with us.

“We are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation into this matter, and we assure you that we are doing everything we can to assist the police in their efforts to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, report of Khadi’s her death has sparked reactions and conspiracies about her personality online, following claims that she was in the hotel with a man.
