Nigerians have given their reaction as pictures of the executive Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and 2 other PDP governors surfaced on the internet.
Makinde and the other G5 governors otherwise regarded as the “Super 5” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are said to have visited Makurdi, the Benue State capital, for the campaign flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party, Gubernatorial candidate, Gov. Samuel Ortom who is seeking reelection into his office.
Recall that the governors, Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State), ‘Seyi Makinde (Oyo State) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, are currently having a crisis with the party and the party’s presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, insisted on the removal of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
Hon Titus Tyoapine Uba and Sir John Ngbede are flying the party’s flag as candidate and running mate respectively.
Some road projects constructed by Governor Ortom’s administration are also likely for commissioning by the visiting governors.
Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, Makinde and other Governors whose pictures surfaced on the internet have however posted their comments and reactions to the pictures.
A sect. of Twitter users has maintained that the relevance of these five (5) governors is second to none as far as the party is concerned. While some have commented on the fashion dress sense of the governors.
Another sect of Twitter users has called on the governors to reconcile with the party structure and support the presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar at the Federal level.
In the meantime, a lot of Twitter users had also called for the removal of Abia State Governor, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu from the Super 5 describing him as a failure and the abuse of the word “Super”.
