The candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo Central Senatorial District, Engr. Faozey Oladotun has maintained that none of his fellow contenders for the position of Senator in Oyo South is a threat to his emergence as a Senator in the coming general elections.
Oladotun who made this declaration while speaking on Sunday on a radio programme tagged: “Kayegbo” on Kings FM, added that Accord is a party that poses a winning platform for the election, and thousands of decampees have been welcomed from parts of Oyo State in the party.
“None of the other contestants poses any major threat to my emergence as a senator, I fear none of them.
“Accord pose a winning platform for this election, a lot of the bigwigs in the APC have all moved to Accord. So Accord is capable of winning the election, especially with Bayo Adelabu as the Guber candidate.
“We even have people joining Accord from other parties aside from the massive move from the APC, even many neutrals have decamped to Accord, we recently had thousands of decampees across Oyo Federal Constituency and Akinyele LG”, he added.
Speaking about godfatherism in politics, Faozey claimed he has no godfather except mentors and elders who give him directions on how best to execute his project and achieve success in the coming election.
Speaking on Local Government Autonomy, Faozey stated that local government should be independent and be allowed to build their individual strength.
“My model for Localise industrialisation is mainly hinged on LG autonomy, they should be independent of each other to build on their individual strength. This is among our basic goals that will be presented on the floor of the house when I become a senator.
“I can guarantee that the Accord Guber candidate, Bayo Adelabu will fully implement LG autonomy in Oyo State, he will not sit on their fund and issue a paltry sum to them on a monthly basis”, he assured.
