Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command have arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly molesting two female minors.
The nameless man was rescued at Fanawole area of Apete, Ibadan by men of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of NSCDC from a mob who were administering jungle justice for allegedly molesting two female minors in the early hours of Monday.
The victims alleged that the old man defiled them on the excuse of engaging in metaphysical intervention for them.
Speaking to newsmen at the command Headquarters, the state Commandant of NSCDC; Mr. Iskilu Akinsanya made it known that the Anti Human Trafficking Unit of the Command was alerted about the incident around 9am.
He said, “The Residents of the area called on the Civil Defense Divisional office at Sango to interfere before the suspect will be harmed. It took the intervention of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in the area to rescue the man just as the residents of the area were about to set ablaze the old man’s house.”
The Commandant lauded the people of the area for giving timely information to the Corps and advised that people stop engaging in jungle justice, adding that the man would be charged to court immediately after the completion of investigation.
In his words: “Don’t get involved in jungle justice but report criminal activities to NSCDC and other security agencies.”
