88 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded In Oyo, Highest In Nigeria


Nigeria has recorded a daily high 643 new cases of the deadly coronavirus Covid-19 with Oyo leading the pack with 88 new confirmed infected persons.

This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Monday, February 8, through the centre’s official Twitter account.

According to NCDC, 18 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja recorded new cases.

Oyo State recorded the highest with 88 new cases, Lagos had 86 new cases, Rivers-55, Edo-54, Akwa Ibom-53, Adamawa-52, Plateau-45, Kaduna-41, FCT-34, Kwara-27, Benue-20, Kano-19, Delta-18, Nasarawa-16, Niger-15 and Bayelsa-11.

Others include Borno with 5 cases, Bauchi and Sokoto with 2 each.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has so far recorded 140,391 confirmed cases, with 114,635 discharged and 1,673 deaths.
