The Mogaji of Ajayi Ida Dynasty, Dr Muideen Babatunde Olatunji has expressed his deep condolences to the indigenes and residents of Ibadanland, both home and abroad, on the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Dr Olatunji commiserated with the people of Ibadanland saying that the death of the monarch is indeed a great loss to the land and Yorubas at large.
Olatunji, who is also the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, describe the late King as a father who lived an exemplary life till he died.
The Mogaji noted that despite the fact that the monarch died in his old age, his death was a painful one and he would be sorely missed for his wisdom and patient care of his subjects.
“My deep condolence goes to the family of the Olubadan, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, and all indigenes of Ibadan at home and abroad.
“Kabiyesi was an exemplary King who represented the Yoruba culture and values to the core. He was wise, patient and will be sorely missed for his wise leadership.
“Ile Ida compound at Idi Arere in Ibadanland, the whole Ibadanland, Yorubaland and the entire country will really miss the great monarch.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace”
