The Coordinator of Omititun Free Health Mission, Wale Falana has stated that the Oyo State free health care mission has benefited over 200, 000 residents in the state.
He restated the commitment of the state government towards delivering high-quality, affordable healthcare to the people of the state.
The Oyo State Free Health Mission is an initiative of the Omititun Free Health Mission which aims at providing free health treatment to Oyo State residents across the 33 local government areas.
While speaking to journalists on Friday during one of the mission’s outreaches, Wale Falana, Coordinator, Omititun Free Health Mission, stated that the initiative was to ensure that no one was left behind in the state’s quarterly free medical mission, which provides free treatment, surgeries, dental care, and cataract surgeries.
He further revealed that over 200 thousand people in Oyo State have benefited from a variety of health services each year, including free cataract and hernia surgeries, eyeglasses, and the filling of hypertension and diabetes drug prescriptions.
“As part of this year’s three-day free health mission, residents, mainly low-income earners in the state, received free treatment and prescriptions for a variety of illnesses.
“They expressed gratitude to the state government for their kindness, claiming that the process was simple and cost-free”, Falana stated.
The administration’s free healthcare aim is part of a larger endeavour to ensure that residents of the fastest-growing state have access to free and inexpensive healthcare.
It would be recalled that the Oyo State Governor; ‘Seyi Makinde on Friday commissioned various health centres and health equipments across the state.
In the meantime, the governor has again proved that his administration is committed to providing available and cheap health care services to all residents of the state.
