Governor Makinde Holds Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting On Year 2020 Budget

The Oyo state government, this Thursday, held Oyo South Senatorial district stakeholders’ consultative meeting on the year 2020 budget.

The town hall meeting held at Emeritus Professor Theophilius Ogunlesi Hall, University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, and presided over by the Executive Governor of the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, was said to be part of the state government’s efforts to ensure wide consultations on the state 2020 Budget.

In his opening remarks, governor Makinde noted that the consultative meeting became imperative to ensure that the good people of Oyo state get value For their Monies.

Speaking on the state Internal Generated Revenue (IGR), governor Makinde said his administration has increased the state IGR with N400Million within 5 months.

Makinde also disclosed that his one-year goal is to hit four-billion-Naira mark in IGR by December 2020 without increasing Oyo citizen taxes rather, he will block financial leakages and put a stop to inflated contracts.

Stakeholders’ from Oyo South Senatorial district presented their requests to the Oyo state government and appealed to governor Makinde to include their prayers into the 2020 budget.

While responding to various requests made by the stakeholders, Governor Makinde maintained that the engagement will improve the performance of the 2020 budget and sustain the developmental objectives of his administration, assuring the stakeholders that their requests would be given due consideration.
