Oldest Monarch in Oyo State Plead For Immediate Installation of Aresa-Adu of Iresa-Adu

The Olupasa of Ipasa land, who is popular for his mystical and metaphysical powers, and also known as the oldest serving Monarch in Oyo State, have now joined pleas from numerous Monarchs who have been pleading with stakeholders and the Oyo State government recently, to resolve the vacant throne of Aresa of Iresa-Adu in Surulere LGA, Oyo State, which has lingered for close to 10years, since the last Aresa-Adu passed away in 2018.

HRM, Oba Yusuf Olasunkanmi Popoola, the Olupasa of Ipasa land, who is currently trending on social media for his metaphysical abilities. The Olupasa of Ipasa have now joined recent pleas by HRM Oba Lasisi Oladimeji, the Arayin of Irayin land on the immediate need to install the Aresa-Adu of Iresa-Adu.

Highly prominent national political leaders including notable monarchs, have intervened on the matter through written letters and physical meetings with Governor Seyi Makinde, pleading with the Governor to use executive tools of his office to resolve the matter but to no avail.

Years of neglect and the lack of interest shown by Governor Seyi Makinde in the First Class Monarch throne of the embattled ancient town of Iresa-Adu is surprising to many, considering the Governor’s swift and decisive intervention with Soun of Ogbomoso, Alaafin of Oyo, Eleruwa, and lesser ranked thrones in Ibadan.

Obas, Baales, the leadership, and residents of towns and villages under the Aresa-Adu of Iresa-Adu, have protested earlier this year over the lack of Oba Aresa-Adu since 2018, sighting security concerns of not having a monarch in place. That is happening while the many boarder towns and villages under Aresa-Adu deal with persistent land disputes with neighboring Osun and Kwara states.

In a previous news article by HRH, Oba Lasisi Oladimeji, Arayin of Irayin land, who was once a revered PDP chieftain before ascending to the throne, Oba Oladimeji said, “protection of lives and properties are paramount and there is need for Aresa-Adu to be on the throne for well coordinated security cooperation amongst towns and villages under Aresa-Adu”. Both the Olupasa and Arayin domains are under the ancient throne of the Aresa-Adu of Iresa-Adu in Surulere Local Government.

The Monarchs have pleaded with Governor Seyi Makinde to use his executive tools to resolve the matter, claiming that, installing the Aresa-Adu, who is a First Class Oba will be Governor Seyi Makinde’s greatest achievement for the people of Surulere Local Government in Iresa-Adu.
