WEPO Joins Accord Party with over 2000 followers, Announces Bid for Ib’NE/Ib’SE House of Reps

Hon. Ismail Abidemi Lawal, known as WEPO, has officially joined the Accord Party to run for the House of Representatives, representing the Ibadan Southeast/Northeast Federal Constituency.

His late father, HON. Isau Lawal was a prominent personality in the politics of Ibadan city and subsequently that of the Western Region of Nigeria right before the country’s independence in 1960 as an Honorable Member Representing the Western Region in NCNC & right hand of Late. Adegoke Adelabu.

WEPO, from ward 06, who switched from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Accord, made the announcement at the party’s general meeting held at Alake Academy in Ibadan SouthEast Local Government Area on Tuesday.

He described his ambition as a call to service and responsibility.

“Today is more than just a meeting; it’s a conversation with destiny. It’s a call to service, responsibility, and renewed commitment. With your support, we are sure of victory,” he said.

Mr. Muhammad, who is the brother to HON. Ismail Abidemi Lawal, emphasized his commitment to the development of the federal constituency.

He advocated for unity among party members and leaders, urging them to work together.

He also called for their support as he declared his intention to contest the 2027 election for the House of Representatives, representing the Ibadan North East/ South East Federal Constituency.

Reaffirming his loyalty to the party, Hon. Ismail announced a donation of 29 bags of rice across the Ibadan NorthEast/Ibadan SouthEast Federal Constituency.

He also pledged to donate dozens of chairs to the party, renovate the party office in the constituency, and install TV sets and other gadgets for the comfort of the party’s youth and members.

Party stakeholders however praised Hon. WEPO for his support, including his generous donation of 29 bags of rice, among other contributions to Ibadan SouthEast, just as he also plans to reciprocate this gesture in Ibadan North East, too.

Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Olayinka Dairo, the State Secretary of the Accord Party, who also represented HON. Adebukola Ajaja noted that the Accord Party is united and formidable.

He encouraged members to invite others to join the party, commending the leadership prowess of Hon. Oriyomi Hamzat who is the party’s flagbearer for the governorship election, in the 2027 general election.

Party leaders believe the slogan “Oyo ‘n Pe O,” which includes market women, traders, artisans, youth, and women in the state, will lead the party to victory in the 2027 general election.

The event, which drew a large crowd, including party leaders and members, was also attended by Accord Party executives and many others.
