I’m One Of Ibadan Circular Road Project Victims — APM Gov Candidate, Adekanmbi

The gubernatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has revealed that he is one of the victims of the Ibadan Circular Road project.

Adekanmbi made the revelation while addressing newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The construction of the Ibadan Circular Road started during the tenure of the immediate past governor, Abiola Ajimobi and continued in the Seyi Makinde led current government of the state of which several properties, including houses and other structures, have been demolished as a result of the project.

The development prompted some of the affected residents to stage protests to express their grievances.

Adekanmbi in reaction to the protest noted that his property in Ona Ara Local Government Area was among those affected by the project describing the situation as painful but said the project would be in the interest of the majority of the public.

Adekanmbi further explained that he would not be a stooge of Governor Seyi Makinde but would also not betray him.

Adekanmbi said: “I am a victim of the Ibadan Circular Road. I have a landed property in Ona Ara; it was consumed by the project.

“I just spoke with the affected victims. I am also one of the people affected by the Ibadan Circular Road. It is not easy. I am pained, but there is nothing I can do. If there will be development, it will affect some people, and I am one of them. I am also affected.

“I am not Fubara. I came from a good home. I cannot assassinate Seyi Makinde’s character. I will not be an ingrate. I am not like Fubara.

“I will do the right thing. If they tell me to put my hand in fire, will I do it? No. I will not do it. But I will not be an ingrate. I will not be a stooge of Makinde.”
