As Oyo State approaches another critical election cycle in 2027, the people must scrutinise every individual vying for positions of influence. One such aspirant from the Oyo North Senatorial District, a retired soldier from Oke-Ogun (Saki, precisely), has recently signalled his intention to run for either Senate or Governor. While ambition is not in itself a fault, leadership demands more than just desire, it demands character, capacity, and a proven track record of integrity.
Unfortunately, the individual in question falls drastically short in several of these critical areas.
Questionable Leadership Record
This aspirant currently manages a company of fewer than 50 employees, yet multiple accounts reveal persistent mismanagement. Former staff members describe a toxic work environment marked by erratic behaviour, poor decision-making, and a lack of structure. Rather than fostering growth or innovation, the company is reportedly in constant disarray, stifled by impulsive leadership and unaddressed internal conflict.
Allegations of Abuse and Harassment
Even more disturbing are the reports of harassment and physical abuse. Multiple credible witnesses allege that this individual has resorted to violence and intimidation against employees, behaviour that is not only unfit for a corporate leader but utterly disqualifying for public office. Public servants are expected to uphold the law and protect citizens, not emulate the behaviour of bullies.
Personality Instability
Leadership starts at home, and sadly, the issues extend into his personal life. Despite having a relatively small family, he has reportedly failed to maintain stability or discipline within it. If a man cannot manage peace and order in his household, how can he be trusted to govern a state of millions?
A Pattern of Lies and Manipulation
Perhaps most troubling is the growing public perception of him as a manipulator and habitual liar. Constituents and colleagues alike describe him as someone who bends the truth for convenience and employs deception as a tool for self-promotion. Nigeria has suffered enough from leaders who speak with forked tongues. We need truth-tellers, not spin doctors.
The Path Forward
This article is not written out of malice but out of deep concern for the future of Oyo State. We cannot afford to gamble with our children’s futures by entrusting power to individuals who have consistently demonstrated a lack of discipline, empathy, and moral courage.
Democracy thrives when citizens speak out, not just with their votes, but with their voices. As we approach 2027, let us demand better. Let us choose leaders who inspire, uplift, and lead by example not those who abuse, deceive, and divide!
