Adamasingba Commissioning: Aseyin of Iseyin Debunks Claims of Denial of Entry by Security officials

The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abdganiy Adekunle Oloogunebi has cleared the air on his purported denial of entry into the Lekan Salami stadium during the official commissioning of the stadium on Wednesday.

Oba Adekunle expressed disappointment on the obvious politicisation of everything by some media organisations as he stated clearly that he was given access to the stadium and he watched the ceremonial football competition which was held as one of the events included in the stadium commissioning itinerary.

The monarch who arrived at the stadium with the Alaafin of Oyo and the Olubadan of Ibadan revealed that the two monarchs he arrived with, decided to turn back due to the mammoth crowd at the stadium and the effect that can have on them since they are aged persons as opposed to the rumours of security officials refusing them entry into the stadium.

He added that some members of the crowd were trying to force their way into the stadium and this caused the security personnel to be more strict in their conduct so as not to allow anyone to disrupt the event which had many people coming from far and near to witness it.

“I would not know why somebody would say I was turned back by security men, I attended the event and was ushered in, although the entrance was rough due to mammoth crowd or miscreants that wanted to force their ways in buy were stopped by the security agents stationed at the entrance of the stadium, “he said.

Oba Adekunle, however, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for embarking on the reconstruction of the stadium and he said that this act of development by the governor is worth making the indigenes and residents of Oyo state proud.

It would be recalled that the Lekan Salami Stadium which was built in 1976 was given a new look by the government of Engr Seyi Makinde who during the commissioning of the stadium invited dignitaries like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate at the 2019 general elections, the governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and a host of other dignitaries to attend the epoch-making occasion.
