A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC aspiring to represent Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Akinjide Kazeem Akinola has sympathised with business owners around Hope Junction, Alakia Road, Ibadan affected by the inferno caused by a yet-to-be known factor.
Akinola who made an on-site visits to the scene sadly expressed his deepest sympathy for various businesses the inferno destroyed at this period of time.
Speaking at the scene, the Abuja-based businessman and Ibadan-born chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said “though we are yet to know the causes of this fire incident, but what we are seeing here is more than what we can hurriedly quantify— that is to establish the number of businesses that were razed down by this fire incident.” He said
“It is a sad one but we will implore those affected to take solace in God. With the present state of Nigeria economically, this is a huge blow to all. We are very much concerned by this occurrence. We grieve with you all and we will do the needful in supporting various businesses affected.”
Citing the havoc caused by the fire outbreak on his visit, many shops with valuables, an eatery, confectionery stores, and bakery were completely razed.
While announcing the donation of the sum of N2m (Two million naira only) as relief for the affected business owners, Akinola advised that the affected people should form a committee that will take inventory of the properties and businesses lost to the unfortunate accident so as to make it easy for any intending donor to know the extent of the support they needed.
