Another Petrol Tanker Falls in Oyo

Another petroleum tanker carrying 50,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) fondly known as petrol has fallen in Oyo State.

The incident occurred along the Ogbomoso/Ilorin Expressway.

The General Manager, Oyo State Fire Service Mr Yemi Akinyinka confirmed the development to newsmen on Thursday.

Akinyinka noted that men of the agency were immediately mobilised to the scene of the incident.

“Today Thursday 6th march 2025, at exactly 09:20hrs we were called.

“On arrival, we met a Mack Trailer registration no FGE/667H (Kano) /loaded with 50,000 litres of P.M.S that has summersaulted in the open road and the P.M.S gushing out.

“Instantly, we ‘blanket’ the area with foam compound to neutralize the flammability of the spilled contents from attracting unnecessary naked fire,” he said.

The incident is coming a few days after another fuel-ladden tank also fell in the state.

The incident occured at Olope Marun, along the Ogbomoso/ Oyo Road.
