APC Oyo North Primary: Shina Peller Approaches Court to Seek Redress After Losing

A frontline senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo North, Hon. Shina Peller through his lawyer, is challenging the irregularities that marred the conduct of the party’s Oyo North Senatorial election.

In a letter dated May 29, 2022 and addressed to the Chairman, Oyo State Senatorial Primary Election Committee of Oyo APC, Peller is challenging the emergence of Sen. Abdul-Fatai Buhari.

He further noted that the election was stopped halfway and couldn’t have produced a candidate but shockingly a name was announced despite irregularities.

Hon. Shina Peller is also decrying the development where a serving senator openly seeks to manipulate the process.

Earlier, Peller said: “Iseyin District Grammar School which is to be the venue that we all agreed for the primary election for APC House of Representatives and Senate was shifted to another venue without the prior consent of other aspirants.

“All the delegates have been there with their cards since 10:00 a.m. All the aspirants of both House of Representatives and Senate are all here with the exception of a serving senator. But to our surprise, we were briefed that there is another kangaroo primaries going on in one hotel along Oyo-Iseyin road.

“We are not backing out of Oyo North Senatorial Contest but we demand justice and fairness devoid of any kangaroo arrangement or imposition in the conduct of the said primary election of Oyo North Senatorial District”, he maintained.
