Baba Suwe Yet To Be Buried According To Islamic Rites; Clerics Turn Down Officiating Invite

Veteran comic actor Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe who died on Monday, November 22, 2021, is yet to be buried according to Islamic rites according to reliable sources.

An entertainment site, Best Of Nollywood disclosed on Monday night that Islamic clerics who have been contacted to perform interment rites said they would not be officiating the burial and interment proceedings of an embalmed corpse.

It was learnt one of his sons, Adesola who resides in the United States of America had insisted that he would be present for his father’s burial; hence he instructed that the remains of his late father be embalmed ahead of internment on Thursday.

Adesola Omidina, the first Son of the late actor Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe, had taken to his Instagram page to announce that his father’s internment would hold on Thursday, November 25, 2021.

In a statement e-signed by Adesola, on behalf of the family, the interment will commence at the deceased residence at 26, Oluwatimiro Street, Ewu Elepe Bustop, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos, by 10 am prompt.

Adesola further disclosed, “The final funeral ceremony will be announced later. Baba Suwe is survived by children, grandchildren, aged mother and family.”
