Council of Ibadan Indigenes Mourn Harry Akande, says He Attracted More Wealth to Oyo State



The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) expressed shock and regret at the death of the late Ibadan born billionaire, Harry Akande.

In a condolence message signed byby the President General of CCII, Chief Yemi Soladoye, the group stated that Akande will forever be remembered for facilitating sizeable number of foreign direct investments to Ibadanland, Oyo state and Nigeria in general.

The group also noted that Akande would be remembered as one of the Ibadan men that had class, taste, style and enjoyed his wealth to the fullest.

The message reads, “My condolences are hereby extended to the members of Chief Harry Akande’s family both home and abroad and all Ibadan indigenes on the death of yet another great and illustrious son of Ibadanland.

“Chief Harry Akande was an international business Mogul, a flamboyant billionaire, a dogged business strategist and above all a great loved of Ibadanland.

“He was responsible for attracting sizeable number of foreign direct investments to Ibadanland and Nigeria and also rose in politics to the level of contesting for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“He built many relationships across local and international bridges. He would be remembered as one Ibadan man that had class, taste and style and enjoyed his wealth to the fullest. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
