Court Adjourns N11.5 Million Suit against Oyo Council Till February 2022

The National Industrial Court sitting in Ibadan has adjourned an N11.5 million suit filed by former employees against Atisbo local government in Oyo state, until Feb. 14, 2022.

It was gathered that the ex-workers of Atisbo local government, instituted the case over their unpaid transportation allowance for a period spanning between two to three months totalling N11,580,044.

The claimants include Makanjuola Ayoola, Mr. Ademola Adedeji, Audu Razak, Babatunde Olawore and Ashiru Adelani.

Justice Dada Peterson on Monday adjourned the case until Feb. 14, 2022 after granting an application by the counsel to the respondent, for an extension of time to serve their statement of defence on the claimant.

The counsel to the respondent, Muktar Aderogba, had moved a motion for an extension of time to serve the statement of defence on the claimants.

Aderogba informed the court that he would ensure that the claimants are served with the court processes before the next adjourned date.

Meanwhile, the counsel to the claimants, Akintunde Omotoso, had earlier told the court that he was yet to be served with the statement of defence of the respondents.
