Exclusive: Sahara Reporters Lied, Police Not Attacked by PMS Operatives in Ibadan

The Police Public Relations Office has debunked stories making the rounds on social media that members of the Park Management System attacked police men in Ibadan.


According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Office, SP. Adewale Osifeso Anipr, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, an operative of the Special Tactical Squad (STS) enroute Lagos from Abuja was attacked by some suspected hoodlums. Oyo State Police Command’s tactical and operational assets were deployed promptly.

This led to the rescue of an operative inflicted with deep matchet cuts and the recovery of (2) two AK47 riffles. No life was lost in the incident.

POLICE PRESS RELEASE

RE: ATTACK ON POLICE OPERATIVES BY SUSPECTED HOODLUMS
Upon the receipt of the information of attack of Operative of Special Tactical Squad (STS) enroute Lagos from Abuja by some suspected hoodlums, Oyo State Police Command’s tactical and operational assets were deployed promptly. This led to the rescue of an operative inflicted with deep matchet cuts and the recovery of (2) two AK47 riffles. No life was lost in the incident.

  1. The Commissioner of Police wishes to use this medium to urge Parents, Guardians and all at the apex of societal influence to strongly warn their wards against being used by criminals in disrupting the relative tranquility enjoyed in the State.
  2. While re-affirming the Command’s assurances to continually provide comprehensive security to the good people of the State, the Commissioner of Police, wishes to state that the Command would not relent in dealing decisively with any person or group of people whose actions or inactions breaches public peace at any point and place in Oyo State.
