Femi Adebayo, Itele, Other Nollywood Actors Storm Oyo for Movie Shoot, Laud Makinde for Creating Enabling Environment

Ace Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Yekin Itele and many other actors have commended the effort of the Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde towards creating an enabling environment for talents and creativity in the state.

The numerous theatre stars stormed the town of Fiditi Afijio local goverment of the state for the production of a movie titled “King Kesari” by Ibrahim Yekin popularly known as Itele.

The actors, who were paid a welcome visit by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun; noted that Oyo State has played a vital role in shaping a better avenue for transformation and development in the theatre and filmmaking industry.

The movie director, Tope Adebayo who maintained that the town of Fiditi was carefully selected for the movie production, noted that the storyline incorporate the ancient days, colonial era and the modern day scene.

He added that old buildings in Fiditi town are still very solid, serving as a custodian of Yoruba history and heritage. He described Oyo State as a state of peace, and one of the very few states that houses great cultures hoping the movie will make a boom and be a magic when finally produced.

Speaking on the relationship between Oyo State and film makers, Ace Actor, Femi Adebayo appreciates Governor ‘Seyi Makinde for making the state attractive to filmmakers in the country.

“I am a bit sentimental about Oyo State. Sentimental in the sense that I have lived in the city of Ibadan since the last 20 years which gives me the kind of love I have derived for the state.

“Another reason I am sentimental with Oyo State is that my film school which I have established for the last 14 years, J15 School of Performing Arts is in Ibadan and my blockbuster movie which went so viral, the king of thieves “Ageshinkole” was shot in the town of Oyo in the State and this has really triggered many actors to come to the state.

“As I speak, More than four actors are currently shooting their movies in Oyo State. We found Oyo to be very peaceful and accomodating.

“We believe in his excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde in his policy to building growth of Oyo State and making the state a friendly environment for film makers,” he said.

Olatunbosun, who reiterated the readiness of Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde towards creating a friendly environment for creativity, stated that the governor has really helped the movie industry.

He said the state government is focused towards making Oyo a state which cherishes tourism, while creating an enviroment for every industry to thrive.
