A man, simply identified as Elisha Adegoke has narrated how the Dugbe branch of the Guaranty Trust Bank in Ibadan, Oyo State capital humiliated him for allegedly making videos in the bank.
Adegoke, who claimed to be a music producer in a viral video posted on social media platforms, narrated how the bank harassed him insisting he made a video while he visited the bank to complain of inability to withdraw his funds on the 3rd of April, 2023.
“I got to the bank and I queued till it was my turn. Immediately I got in, I went to the customer service to lodge the complaint I had with my bank account. While attending to my case she told me to wait, I was standing since there were no chairs to sit on and I was pressing my phone.
“I noticed someone tapped my shoulder while standing and it was the Chief Security Officer of the bank, he accused me of shooting a video and I replied that I never did, he called on a police officer who checked my phone and realised I didnt do anything of such.
“I requested to see the bank manager and he insisted I go to the CSO who took me to the police station. I was embarrassed, humiliated and brutalised. I was accompanied by the policemen to Iyaganku Police Station.
“I was locked up in the cell. I was deprived of my freedom and I was frustrated,” he added.
In the meantime, Adegoke has further revealed that his lawyer has been contacted and he is willing to take the case up with the bank.
