A forensic report has detailed how Embattled Nollywood actor, James Omiyinka, also known as ‘Baba Ijesha’, inserted a car key into the vagina of a minor to defile her.
The prosecution led by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Olayinka Adeyemi presented the witness, Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode on Tuesday to Special Offenses Court in Ikeja, Lagos state.
The child forensic expert and the Executive Director of Cece Yara Foundation told the court that the clinical report on the minor showed Baba Ijesha allegedly engaged the child in sexual activities when she was seven. According to her report, Baba Ijesha on two occasions had carnal knowledge of the minor, and also on another occasion, he inserted his car key into the minor’s private part.
According to Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode, she noted that the forensic interview she had with the victim showed that she was abused by Baba Ijesha who also threatened her not to discuss the matter with anybody.
She said, “He asked the child if he should remove his penis and asked her to sit on his lap,” the witness told the court.
“He told her not to tell anybody. The perpetrator also inserted his car key into her vagina and asked her not to tell anyone.”
Earlier, the counsel to the defendant prayed that the case be adjourned but his request was declined by Justice Olwatoyin Taiwo following the plea from DPP that the counsel to the defendant is taking the court for granted as the case is a criminal case.
Baba Ijesha was on June 16 arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State for alleged sexual assault and attempted rape of a minor.
The 48-year-old actor was arraigned on a four-count charge of sexual assault, sexual assault by penetration, attempted rape, and indecent treatment of a child.
Justice Oluwatoyin adjourned the trial to October 20 and 21 for further hearing.
While speaking to newsmen at the court premises, a movie producer who is an ally of Baba Ijesha faulted the forensic reports describing it as a fallacy. He also condemned the report of Baba Ijesha admitting to the sexual assault allegations against the minor.
He said, ‘there is a form of fallacy which could also mean that the forensic report is a fallacy but we wouldn’t conclude now since they told us that they have a video presentation to make. As of that, we are going to judge between what is being said and what is on the video.
