Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has officially commissioned the newly renovated and equipped Primary Health Care centre at Aafin, Oyo town.
While addressing the community leaders present during the commissioning ceremony, the Governor stated that Primary Healthcare centres cater for the health issues of the people in the grassroots. He emphasized that PHCs are essential due to their nearness and accessibility to people, as they address medical issues that might pose danger to lives and well-being and provide immediate medical care.
Governor Makinde stated that the Health sector is one of the pillars for development in his administration and that he was determined to change the face of the health sector in the state.
The Governor disclosed that his administration would ensure that health care facilities are provided in the 721 health centres in the state to serve the purpose of their establishments and he promised to improve the other health care centres in the state to world standard.
Makinde also pleaded that Oyo State people should continue to obey the directives of the COVID-19 Task Force in the state as plans are in progress to open religious centres and schools.
