Governor Makinde to Reopen Government Secretariat, Sets to Distribute Economic Stimulus Package

The Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde has said the state Covid-19 Task Force has made plans to decontaminate the Oyo state government secretariat between Monday, April 13th and Wednesday, April 15th, 2020.

The governor disclosed this on Wednesday, while briefing newsmen at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan on the state Covid-19 efforts to breaking the chain of the dreaded virus in Oyo state.

The governor who doubles as the state Covid19 Task Force, added that the state secretariat will be reopen on the 20th of April, 2020.

He added that schools and religious centers will be reopen based on the advice and modeling of epidemiologists.

The governor further revealed that the state government is working on a law to make the wearing of face mask in public compulsory so as to prevent community infection.

Governor Makinde, however, hinted that about N200million has been received through the state covid-19 endowment funds. Noting that economic stimulus package will be given to the less privileged in the state starting from next week.
