Covid-19: Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Promise not to Disconnect Debtors

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has said that it would not disconnect non-paying customers during the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic except it is based on safety advisory.

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Regional head, Engineer Peter Oyelami, stated this on Wednesday while presenting food items worth N10million to the Oyo state government on behalf of the distribution company.

He disclosed that the move was part of the company’s support to the people of Oyo state and also to provide their regular customers power supply as much as is within their remit and control.

Engineer Peter applauded the proactive measures which the Oyo state, federal government and their lieutenants have put in place in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

He maintained that the Ibadan electricity distribution company will continue to support the government in mitigating the challenges of Covid-19 and alleviating the economic hardship of the less privilege in the state.

Receiving the items on behalf of the state government, the Executive Adviser to governor Seyi makinde on Agro-business, Dr Debo Akande, commended the kind gesture the company extended to the state and assured that the relief materials donated would be properly be accounted for as soon as the pandemic is contained.
