Governor Makinde Visit Schools to Monitor Level of Compliance

Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde paid an unscheduled visit to some schools in Ibadan township today to guarantee that primary and secondary school management and students adhered to the guidelines specified by the state Covid-19 Task Force for the resumption of schools for pupils and students in terminal classes.

Makinde, in the company of the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, SUBEB Chairman, Dr Nureni Adeniran and TESCOM Chairman, Akin Alamu, expressed gratification with the level of adherence from the school management and students.

Schools had washing hand tools placed at the entry points to all the classrooms, students wore their face masks in order to be allowed into school, there were not more than twenty students per class and food vendors were not allowed into the premises.

The Governor also inspected the school environments and pledged to make the environments conducive for learning. He asserted that education remained one of the cardinal programmes of his administration.
