The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, in his drive to reduce youth unemployment and improve the economy of the state has signed a document that will allow the youths in the state to access Tony Elumelu Foundation $5000 grant.
The program which was designed to fund entrepreneurs and engage youths in various vocational occupations via the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths and Sports took place at Jericho, Ibadan, this Friday.
Speaking with newsmen at the venue of the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths and Sports, Mr. Kazeem Bolarinwa, said the project is targeted at training youths and young intending entrepreneurs to enable them to access the 5 thousand dollars Tony Elumelu Grant window and also reduce unemployment syndrome to the bearest minimum in Oyo state.
Also speaking at the event, the Co-convener of the initiative in Oyo State Barr. Timi Olagunju added that the training will provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs interested in going into professions such as Construction, Fashion Industry, Telecommunication,
ICT, others.
In her remark, the chief trainer of the project, Miss Fiyinfolu Olajola, revealed that the foundation has been able to secure over a thousand job opportunities and hope to achieve more at the end of
the exercise.
How do we partake in this opportunities now we as oyo youth,I mean what trend will this take now…… please my able governor something fast must be done so that this opportunity will not fall into wrong hand and deny we youth our right.
