The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools in the state.
The governor gave the directive on Friday during a press conference held at the government house, Agodi, Ibadan
The governor, at the conference, ordered that all schools be closed till the Easter festival is over.
The governor also suspended the ongoing employee verification in the state and the immediate suspension of the newly launched free health mission.
In a similar vein, the governor directed religious leaders to suspend all religious gatherings above 50 persons.
The governor, who doubles as the chairman of the state COVID-19 Task Force, maintained that the state emergency operation center and Diagnostic center will be operational within the next 72hours.
The governor also put on record that the suspected person quarantined in Ibadan has been diagnosed and tested negative.
Governor Makinde, however, assured the public that the Oyo state COVID-19 Task Force will do all within its power to prevent the virus from spreading into Oyo state and will update the citizens as events unfold.
