How a Serving Minister, others, Escape Death as Private Aircraft Skids Off Track at Ibadan Airport

A privately-owned aircraft carrying passengers, including a serving minister, narrowly avoided a fatal accident on Friday evening when it skidded off track and into the bush at the Ibadan Airport in Oyo State. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or damage to property thanks to the quick response of the State Fire Services, Federal Fire Services, and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Fire Services.

The aircraft had departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja before the incident occurred. The General Manager of the State Fire Service, Yemi Adeyimika, confirmed the incident, stating that his team was en route to the scene but did not have specific details at the time. Upon arrival, they found that other fire services from different agencies were already present.

Thanks to the combined efforts of these emergency services, a potential disaster was averted. No lives were lost, and the situation has been brought under control.
