Pandemonium erupted in the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday after operatives from the Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, tracked a suspected armed robbery gang to the area.
The two-man gang, believed to be responsible for a series of robberies targeting bank customers in Ibadan, engaged the police in a prolonged gunfight.
According to sources gathered by Tribune Online, one of the suspects, who was found to be carrying various types of charms, was shot during the exchange and is feared dead.
His accomplice was apprehended at the scene.
