An Ibadan chief, Oloye Adegboyega Adegoke has recommended that promotion of peace and unity, are the panacea to the present-day challenges confronting Nigeria as a nation.
Highlighting insecurity, corruption, high inflation, economic instability, political warfare and lack of patriotism among the citizens as some of the problems, Adegoke who is the Aare Onibon Balogun of Ibadan land, has advised the citizens to use all that they have to promote peace and unity among themselves.
He stated this in his Easter message to felicitate Christians on Monday, while also urging them to exercise faith and hope.
He insisted that these are ways out of the present problems facing the country.
Speaking further, the Ibadan chief implored the people not to allow the lessons of Easter brought by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to elude them.
He called on the citizens to prioritise love, peace and unity.
Adegoke said, “On this year’s Easter, I call on all Christians and Nigerians to imbibe and sustain Godly values of righteousness, peace and justice which are the true nature of Christ.
“As we celebrate, I urge all Christians and all Nigerians to work in love, peace and unity and exercise faith and hope, so we can overcome our current challenges and build a prosperous nation”, he added.
