To curb the spate of insecurity in the Ibarapa axis, youths in Ibarapa are set to hold a one-day security summit to create awareness on how they can work with security personnel in tackling insecurity in the zone.
The summit which is being spearheaded by a Non-Governmental Organisation, Youths for New Nigeria, YNN, is scheduled to hold on the 17th of September, 2021 at Teachers Plaza, beside Ibarapa Central Secretariat, along Igboora to Idere road, Igboora.
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, the chairmen of Ibarapa LGAs, Hon Adedoyin Oloyede Adeoye(Ibarapa Central), Hon Lateef Adebayo Lawal (Ibarapa North), Hon Olugbenga Obalowo(Ibarapa East) and many other notable dignitaries in Ibarapaland are expected to grace the program which is tagged: Ibarapa Youth Summit 2021, Safeguarding Our Region.
Speaking with Oyoaffairs correspondent about the Summit, the Public Relations Officer of YNN, Matthew Akintude noted that the summit was born out of a need to encourage youths to participate in keeping Ibarapa safe in order to complement the efforts of security personnel in the zone.
His words, “The objective of the summit is to get the government informed about the landowners that are being displaced by foreigners.
“Also, we want to encourage Ibarapa youths to be bold and strong and unite to conquer the enemies of security in the land.
“We also want to create an awareness on how youths can work with the security personnel in curbing the insecurity in Ibarapa. We, therefore, encourage youths within Ibarapa axis to attend the summit where they can learn from stakeholders that would be present at the summit how to participate in curbing insecurity in Ibarapa”, he said.
