Just in: Governor Makinde Approves N234 Million for Oyo State Independent Power Supply

The Oyo State Executive council, chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a sum of N234 Million consortia towards developing a state government independent power project.

Similarly, the executive council approved a sum of N78.4 Million to procure Statewide data of the total energy required of the state to boost its economy and know where to deploy vital infrastructure for the benefit of the residents of the state.

The State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Seun Ashamu, disclosed these on Tuesday shortly after the state’s 23rd executive council meeting.

According to the Commissioner, the projects will be completed within the next 12 months and 2 months respectively.

Also speaking, the State Commissioner for justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, explained that the executive council has approved the purchase of 10 vehicles for the serving judges and three others that will be appointed soonest.

In his remark, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, stated that the contractors in charge of the project will see the state government through the engagement stage upon commissioning.
