Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of a Chairman and members for the Oyo State Local Government Commission, as well as additional members for the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing).
This follows the earlier appointments of Alhaji Hashim Atere as Chairman and Alhaji Abdulrasheed Olokuta as Vice Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing).
In a letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, the newly appointed members of the Local Government Commission are:
- Hon. Akinwale Akinwole – Chairman
- Mr. Yusuf Ali Akinkunmi – Full-Time Member
- Alhaji Oke Taiwo – Full-Time Member
- Mr. John Abisoye Adisa-Oke – Part-Time Member
- Mrs. Nike Arewa – Part-Time Member
Their appointments will take effect after confirmation by the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed members of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) include:
- Abdu Rahman Agbotomokekere
- Amusat Ayyub Agboola
- Dawud Afolabi
- Latifat Dairo
- Mallam Abdusallam Abdullateef
These appointments take immediate effect.
Governor Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to see their roles as a call to service.
