JUST IN: Popular Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana Accepts Invitation To Take Over Timothy Adegoke’s Case For Free

The case of Timothy Adegoke, the MBA student of Obafemi Awolowo University who died mysteriously in a hotel in Ile-Ife is now being taken up by popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) as the family’s lawyer sought his service.

A copy of the letter written by the family of Adegoke to hire Falana and sighted by our newsmen state that they hoped to get justice on the case by bringing him on board.

The letter reads, “We the family of Moses Adegoke have decided to appoint you as our family lawyer, to demand justice for our late son Adegoke, Timothy Oluwadamilare who was murdered at Hilton Honour Hotel and Resorts, Ile Ife.

“We have full confidence in your expertise and professionalism and hope to get justice on the case. Thank you for your great concern and sympathy.”

Responding, Falana & Falana Chambers, in a statement, accepted the family’s invitation, saying, “We have accepted the instructions of the bereaved Adegoke family. 

“We shall handle the case pro bono publico and ensure that justice is done.”

Meanwhile, an Osogbo High Court has ruled that, a human rights broadcaster and Agidigbo FM CEO, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat to stay away from the case of Late Timothy Adegoke.

Oriyomi Hamzat, in a statement he made available on his official Facebook page on Saturday said, “I just received a court order from Oshogbo high court to stay away from TIMOTHY/ Adedoyin case.
I can only do my pushing underground not on my Radio or my social media again…. Never mind we are working on SAN to argue our case, but can we get a FIAT before Tuesday”.

With the news of Femi Falana agreeing to take up the case for the family without charging any fee, Oriyomi has further asked Nigerians and other donors today, to stop raising funds to hire a SAN to pursue the case for justice to be served.
