Oyo YPP Unveils Event Planner, Olamide Ojo-Phillips as Deputy Guber Candidate

The Young Progressives Party, YPP, in Oyo State has unveiled a female candidate, Olamide Agbomeji Ojo-Phillips (SAPHYR) as its Deputy Governorship candidate.

Olamide, a pharmacist and event planner, was unveiled by the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Ogunniyi Mathew (EXPY) at the party’s campaign office in Ibadan on Sunday.

Speaking during the event, Ogunniyi described her as the most qualified person for the office.

“She is someone with a strong passion for the growth and empowerment of youths.

“From the event to the entertainment sector, she is always there to support every young person. She will be running with me”, he said.

In her acceptance speech, Olamide thanked the party’s leadership for trusting her to be the gubernatorial running mate.

She explained that with the support of young people, who represent the majority of residents in the state, the party’s victory is assured.

“If we rely on what the two of us can do, we might achieve little in the coming elections, but with the cooperation of party stakeholders, party members and most importantly the young people of Oyo State, then victory is assured.

“It is public knowledge that young people make up more than 60 percent of the population of Oyo State, and these figures are more than enough to turn the tide around 180 degrees”, she said.

She added that if elected, their administration will operate as a transparent government that prioritises education, health care, security, technology and tourism.

Earlier, the party’s chairman in the state, Hon. Prince Adeyemi Adedeji noted that for anyone who wants a people-oriented administration in the state come 2023, voting YPP is the only available option.

He noted that the party places priority on the development and growth of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

“If you observe closely we’ve given elders the chance but obviously they have failed. The role of youth in the development of any nation is irreplaceable and this is what inspired us to create this party and since it was created in 2017, we’ve participated in elections and we had a victorious senatorial candidate in anambra.

“Since then, we’ve continued in our pursuit for the growth of Oyo state and Nigeria,” Ogunniyi added.
