Renowned Gospel Singer, Evangelist Deborah Adebola Fasoyin, fondly known as Mama Fasoyin who was earlier reported dead has been confirmed to be alive.
The National President for Gospel Musicians Association, Evangelist Philip Olayiwola in a video shared on Facebook confirmed that the Oyo-born gospel is still much alive, hale and hearty.
“I just received a fake news few hours ago that one of our grandma, Mama Fasoyin is late. I want to let you know that our mama D.O Fasoyin is alive , hale and healthy.
“Please debunk that rumour, mama is alive.” He said.
The rumour of mama’s passing had earlier made the rounds on social media with many pouring out their tributes.
Mama Fasoyin was widely recognized as the powerful voice behind the timeless Yoruba gospel song “Odun Nlo Sopin” a song that for decades reminded Nigerians that the year was coming to an end and encouraged reflection, gratitude, and prayers for the future.
