Kidnappers Abduct Former UI Deputy VC, Demand N50m

Professor Adigun Agbaje, a former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan, has been abducted.

According to Federation of Investigative Journalism (FIJ), Agbaje was kidnapped near Guru Maraji village when he was on his way to Ibadan at around 6 p.m. on Friday. Agbaje is a student at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and is currently on sabbatical.

A UI source revealed that the kidnappers “eliminated some policemen around the scene” before making away with their captives.

Since then, the kidnappers have been in touch with the Agbaje family to demand a N50 million ransom.
