It is a new dawn in Ibadan and for the Yoruba race at large as the city officially crowned its new king, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adewolu Ladoja, today, Friday, September 26, 2025.
The coronation was more than a royal event, it was a grand celebration of Ibadan’s heritage and culture. The historic moment drew dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governors Seyi Makinde, Ademola Adeleke, Lucky Ayedatiwa, and former governors such as Rabiu Kwankwaso, Gbenga Daniel, and Ibikunle Amosun. Royal fathers from across the country also joined in paying homage to Ibadan’s newest monarch.
Kolomoni joined the celebration in grand style, honouring both the king and the people of Ibadan. From the beautification of the Olubadan’s palace to rewarding attendees with gifts, Kolomoni’s presence underscored its commitment to tradition and people
The festivities at the Kolomoni stand were nothing short of vibrant. Popular entertainers like Dele Omo Woli and Ayo Adams kept the atmosphere alive with laughter, warmth, and generosity, treating attendees to branded souvenirs and cash rewards that spread joy throughout the crowd.
For Kolomoni, this was a moment to celebrate history, honour culture, connect with people and further reinforce the essence of smart banking at the very heart of Ibadan.
