LG Chairman calls for calm as Ido residents protest Baale kidnap

Ido Local Government Chairman, Mr Sheriff Adeojo, has urged residents of Araromi Idowu to remain calm and not take laws into their hands after the abduction of their community head, Baale Tafa Apanpa.

Adeojo stated this while addressing the aggrieved members of Araromi Idowu who had staged and led a protest to the Ido Police Station to demand the return of their Baale who had been abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday.

Adeojo calmed the residents down by revealing that he has already begun discussions with the relevant security agencies in Oyo state to ensure that the Baale and his wife were released/rescued soon.

The Chairman also revealed that he had already spoken to the three suspects apprehended by the vigilante group in the area and handed them over to the police for further investigation. He again appealed to the protesting crowd to remain calm as all efforts are being made to bring their Baale back to them.

He ended by saying that security was everybody’s business and enjoined residents of Ido local government to be vigilant and to speak up whenever they notice any suspicious people/activity around.
